Felt lethargic today.
Woke up to tipping rain. Got up to a blizzard. It didn't settle, nor could I.
Put up my birthday and our Valentines cards. Look ...
HAPPY BIRTHDAY GEORGIA.!!!!!
Ah, now that's cheered me up: I think I'll go gardening now I'm all warm inside. Thanks Georgie.
It was freezing out. By the time I'd dragged 2 of last years grow bags around the garden, like you do, and then dumped them into the back of the car, my fingers were freezing in.....my gloves..
At the garden plot it seemed a good idea to finish the garlic row. Picardy Whight and Solent I think are the ones I went for (MeWally picked them up for me just before we went away). Then into the loo roll centres went the old grow bag compost and broad beanseeds. When I ran out of the broad beans, I put in the peas - winter ones, a bit late/early depending on how you view it.
Stinging nettles cover this area of the plot, hence the black sheeting.
Still it will radiate some heat. To speed things along further I've stuck small panels of glass on top of the planted loo roll inners . It would have been good to wash the glass in the spring I have here on site; but the water was freezing, as I've already mentioned. Wimp. I'd better get a couple of beds prepped for all these plants. I guess I've got about a month before they all pop up and demand a permanent home.
