What a perfect way to start a day; a walk high up, with sweeping views. Arranged an 8.30 start at Gerrys' place, and, especially for me, a stop off at the tip. It wasn't open, on account of having too much rubbish already!?? I went for the walk instead.
Sign modelled by my lovely assistant, Gerry. Thank you Gerry; that's enough now.
The first thing we came across was this info board. YES; YES I know it's not that gripping, except the artist who produced the original was Jo who came here the other day! Pretty good, huh?
Back to the walk
Stinchcombe Hill and the Cotswold Escarpment with Dursley snuggled down on the plain.
Smallpox Hill. It's the bump with trees on top. It's an old site for burying smallpox victims. Apparently it had a sanatorium on top at one time. Talk about isolation. Nothing there now , but the trees and a few GHOSTS.
Gerry attempting a MAN MOUNTAIN pose, and pretty much succeeding.
Had a quick cuppa at Gerrys' before heading home with my car still full of crap. Looked out of the French doors at the view. Perfect spot for a house, next door to your brother, in the village of your birth. MeWally was born here too; no not in Gerrys' house, fools, in Uley.
Spent the afternoon on the top floor playing with polystyrene closely followed by the vacuum cleaner! See Cottage Restoration blog for more http://bluddymess.blogspot.com/
