Saturay, So Much To Do! - 19.6.10

Wow! What a day.

We raced into Nailsworth first thing and bumped into these two Donkeys. They were about to embark on a week of wandering and art projects around the area. sounded great.

The woman in the picture gave me this leaflet.

One jumper and a couple of shirts later, we set off for MeWallys' brothers place for a BBQ.

Had to stop on the way to get some shots of these poppy fields.

What a sight !  And the poppies!!

Nick did all the cooking, as usual.

And Sandra was hostess with the mostest!

Chris and Liz rushed over, I guess one of them was hungry.

Tony came in ahead of .....

Jacquie and Georgie, who followed a few paces behind: like good, little women!

Then folks arrived thick and fast: I was getting hungry.

Everyone chilled while Nick cooked and Sandra kept the drinks and nibbles coming.

Michelle having her finger held.

Turns out he was hungry too. He looks happy now.

We all ate lots, then we had pudding, lots and lots of pudding. Except Liz, who claimed to have an empty plate. But, dear reader, I know the truth ....

she was after a whole pie. Well I was shocked!!

We made our excuses and left before Liz got her own back.

We zoomed past Bath, beating the train, arriving at Slimbridge  just in time to go to the

BEER FESTIVAL.

I was quite excited, unlike this guy, reading his paper.

Most folks, though, did the chatting and drinking thing.

Dave LB, an old work mate, rushed over to say HI. Looks well chuffed to see me, I think.

The night began to close in, and the beer flowed ....  a lot.

Gerry and Em were putting us up tonight, and still they looked happy.

Tim, Andy and MeWally put the world to right. Well, they had quite a bit to drink!

Kath trying to see me, but I 'came out the sun'.

Kath, the other one, hid in the crowd, but I found her. The shot of Matt looked terrible, I was tempted to put it on here.

The band played on and the sun sank low; we drank a bit more.

We came away with a menu, bracelet, tokens and a gurt mug each.

Eventually we all piled into the car and, the ever sober, Tim  was driving and Andy was chief letch.

HAPPY DAYS
