Combe Hill Nature Reserve Sunday 10.10.10

I felt a fungi moment coming on, which meant heading to the nearest woods. The local Wildlife Trust has several good ones nearby, so how, I wonder, did we end up here?

On such a lovely day

it didn't much matter where we were,

as long as we were out doors

and soaking up, what might be the last of this years sun shine.

The day had a proper spring time feel to it.

Don't take my word for it,

take a look at these guys. I'm not too sure what's going on, but either the one at the front is blind and the other one is showing him/her the way, or they're fighting, or they're conjoined twins enjoying a day out …..

Naturally lunch came into things, and where better than a hide to sit down and rest up?

Wandering on, the day got warmer

we got into our stride,

eventually, after  a fair few miles, finding ourselves back at the car park in lickity split time, only to be confronted by this harbinger of autumn rains, or possible summer sun hat.

Peckish and in need of a 'rest stop' we high tailed it to Nature In Art (click here to take a look) for a cuppa amongst their very flamboyant sheep.

It wasn't a dead loss as I had the day out that I had craved and fund a few fungi lurking in the grass.
