Birthday day / Friday 19.2.10

It’s my birthday!! Woken up with pressys and card. Just look at that wrapping, sooo lovely. MeWally wanted to use French gift wrap, but couldn’t find any. He ‘compromised’ with all that lovely hot, pink crepe paper and purple ribbon. Couldn’t be prettier. Shame I didn’t take a snap before I ripped it all apart, it was perfectly gorgeous, even after I’d my moment of gay abandon.
Greeted as I came down stairs with Phil singing Happy Birthday to me. Made this rainy day feel sunny.
The plan had been to spend the day skiing/or boarding at one of the big resorts nearby, however the lack of clemency kept us firmly in our places. We made a quick dash to a hardware place, played scrabble, did a bit of reading......

had the wii Olympics......

did a couple of bits of art work.......

wouldn’t play Uno with Phill, knitted,  ate cake, ate the odds and ends left in the fridge for our lunch; which was very nice. Paul was a bit stir crazy, Gerry did a bit of dozing.

Had a meal at the Taki Yale Restaurant (Taki Revenue on the back of the menu) to celebrate my 55th year groping about on this planet. Was, like the others, totally stuffed after 3 courses and then ‘they’ expected me to eat cake! Which of course I did.

THE MOST DELICIOUS BLACK FOREST GATEAUX.

The French really are the best nation when it comes to making cakes.

The hard part was Paul and Amanda having to pack before bed, as they are planning to leave at 7.30am tomorrow. We’re not off till tomorrow evening, which gives us time to slip onto the piste for half a day, having cleaned the chalet for our hosts first.

While they got packed we made balloon animals. Obvious. What would you do at a time like this?
