Chilling around the house / Tuesday 16.2.10

I'm last up again: apart from those pesky teenagers. No adult can beat teenagers at lying in..

 Lovely holiday.

Gerry and Phil have already been out for a walk in the crisp blue sunshine. They stuck to the lane as the snow  is knee deep off road.

I used to be able to do that. Demo one leg outstretched and bend at the knee, low down to the ground with the other. And I could do 50 pressups straight off. Demo of a man floundering on the floor, and grunting as he heaved himself up, using the coffee table as an aid to standing. Puffing, I’m not the man I was. Could do it with someone sitting on me shoulders. Sad face. That was over 50 years ago. Teenager Tom smirked silently and caught my eye. All this will come to you, if you’re lucky.

The lads stayed here as most of the adults went shopping. Lew was still ‘resting’ and Tom was on Playstation. Gerry and I went drawing, not a euphemism, just along the lane. As ever, he produced a very presentable sketch, I’m not so tidy, mine was more reprehensible. We headed back to the house and ate loads: baguette and cheeses, fruit, cake.  I got on and knitted another blanket square for baby William. Tough day.

Gerry and I did a bit of sketching

At the shops, as well as buying food, Phil treated himself to a sink plunger; lucky Denise

2 lots of night light ‘boats’ and cactus candles were also bought. Now these I love.

We spent the afternoon watching Dude Where’s My Car. Funny. Finished the day with Shaun Of The Dead with a great evening meal in between. SWEEEEET
