Easter Weekend - A walk in the Woods

Friday 2.3.10
Good Friday

Well we planned and replanned the work on the house. Gerry came over and ended up trapped in the middle of our confusion over units, mm, cm, m? We'll never get any work done at this rate.

So MeWally will draw up the required plans for the stairs and I'll get the quotes when the holiday weekend is over.  Click here to see what's been happening to our lovely bedroom  http://bluddymess.blogspot.com/

Saturday 3.4.10

Gerry came over first thing, as did Rose. We all ate cake and nattered.  Rose was unnaturally pleased to be given a mug that matched her outfit. It seems that this is something she strives for in her professional life. Strange the things we don't know about our friends.

Later in the day Baby Bell brought  her mum and dad over to see us.

If I ever finish my second blanket like this one, I'll create a new one for Bella as she's a hefty 9 lbs now at over 7 months old and is outgrowing this one.. Who's a big girl then?!

Passage to India take away. Nothing left after popadoms and main course with naans,  3 types of rice and spinach spuds. Mouth watering.

Oh dear, how am I meant to recycle this lot??

Sunday 3.4.10
Easter Sunday

We had planned to go for a local walk today, as it was to be the only dry day of the weekend. And it was dry.

I have a tradition, call me sad, that my Easter egg has to be delivered to me bed. It then, must be totally eaten before I get up. I was beaten by my extra thick choccy, caramel crunch, egg. It tasted so good.

MeWally had an egg on a stick. Makes a change from the moon on a stick.

Here's our walk in pictures.

Lovely Watledge. We used to live along here.

Amberly??

Thistle in a pasture.

Stunning Golden Plover

Diagnostic 'blunt V formation'

MeWally adding perspective

Celendine

Moles have been busy for a few weeks now

One of my favourite fields. I love the way it sweeps. Even though it's miles from the nearest road ( I think) I always see other people when I'm there.

Returning to nature

Love this spot

Heron hiding by the ponds

Otter Spraint (poo)?

Sci fi props?

Marsh Marigold

Around here I found and picked,  masses of Jelly Ear fungi.

Sparkling light

Amazing the places plants will colonize

Out of the dark woods and into the light

Then we plunge, once more towards another set of woods

Avening

Snack in the church yard. Finished our Easter eggs. Sob.

Princess Annes' gaff

My garden's heaving with primroses. They self seed everywhere, and yet these are the first wild ones I've seen in bloom this year. What's going on??

WOOD ANEMONE

The very stately wood spurge

We picked wild garlic at the end of  the walk and used it and the fungi, picked earlier, today in our dinner. See Rustic Grub   http://muddymaker.blogspot.com/ arty crafty pages.
