A Weekend At Brendas'

MeWally got up and away for 4,30am Saturday. He's gone to France for a week with a work colleague and 3 clients. Needless to say I didn't notice him leave, but I'm sure he kissed me goodbye???!!

I spent the weekend at Brendas place near Birmingham. Since my last visit, she'd had her living room chairs recovered. Man, they looked soooooo good, but needed the finishing touch of  the bag I made at her workshop the other weekend:

We ate really good grub

a la cuisine Brenda

.
I can't express how it feels to have a friend potter about, cooking you good food and chatting amiably about everything and nothing, all in equal portions.

She worked on Saturday and Sunday; and I went too.

On both days we sat in her workshop, at Jinney Ring, and made small brooches to sell. We used felt backing with ruffled fabrics held in place by beading. In this shot you can see that Brenda's wearing one.

I know, she's giggling again. No, don't ask. I can't remember what tickled us this time.

Got back to my place to find wet washing, dripping as it hung solemnly on my washing line.

When/if ever it decides to stop raining, my washing will be ready to dry off, because it's not coming into the house until that point. I don't care how long it takes!

To console myself, I went 'out back' and played with my new baubles,

trying to give each a home in the Mock Trop back yard,

and then find a home for this leaf.

They're from the glass blowing studio at Jinney Ring. Every thing made by them is unique. It took me ages to make my choices from the hundreds they have hanging from the rafters. Whilst there, I commissioned a piece. I know that it sounds all very grand, however, in my defence, can I say it's NOT in any way pricey. I wanted a slight variation on a part of their current range and was happy with the price. What's not too pricey, for a personalized, unique, custom made art work in glass???

15 quid !!
