It's here at last, Glastonbury weekend.
I've avoided Radio 1 for over 6 weeks.
I've avoided anything to do with bands and their tours for even longer.
Not for me spending April and May second guessing who was touring in UK/Europe over the summer and might be up there on stage.
Not for me, listening to bands/ acts and thinking, 'Ooooogottaseethemlive'.
No.
Purdah
Total shut down.
Would've got away with it too, if it wasn't for Gerry the Dairy turning up with a brace of daughters this morning and telling MeWally that the Gorillaz were playing/had played.
I missed that bit of the conversation, only to have MeWally repeat it to me later. He wrongly assumed I'd heard Gerry say it.
Well I hadn't.
NOW I CAN'T GET IT OUT OF MY SKINNY LITTLE BRAIN.
Seen Blur, seen Monkey, adore the Gorillaz .... TIPTOP!
Only miss Glastonbury if we miss out on tickets.
WE MISSED OUT ON TICKETS.
GUTTED.
I'll give it a month or 2. Let Radio 1 get over playing and replaying the best bits. Then I can go back to enjoying music again.
In the meantime, I'll get tickets to see the Gorillaz in September and imagine I'm in a field with other happy campers.
IF ONLY.
