I've spent the last couple of evenings making garlands using FIR CONES. Some of them are getting on for 3m/9ft long. They're so pretty that I can't wait to put them up in our house.
Here's a short one I made. Makes a handsome, yet simple table decoration IMO, or you could dress it up with candles and stuff.
